What is Suzuki Early Childhood Education?
Suzuki Early Childhood Education (SECE) is the realization of the potential of "every child" through active and reactive participation in the environment which surrounds them. It is based on the assumption that every child can learn and there are no limits to a child's potential.

The uniqueness of SECE is the emphasis on the natural development of the child from birth and the rich, stimulating learning partnerships that develop with parents, teachers, and peers.

The goal is to create an environment for children, free from pressure, in which they can gain skills, a sense of purpose in life, an understanding of discipline, and an appreciation of beauty.

SECE classes are taught by two Suzuki certified teachers working in tandem, tag-teaming between activities to keep the class moving. That means less downtime, and less chance for little ones to get upset or wander off. Â

Weekly Group Classes
SECE classes are unique in that they are designed for mixed-age participants. Parents or care-givers and their children, ages 0-4 learn from each other in this supportive environment.
A journal, between you and the teacher
After every class, your teachers write a short note in your child's observation journal. You'll read it the following week and you're welcome to write back, building an ongoing conversation about your child's musical and social development.
All of the instrument and recordings used in SECE classes are of the highest quality. They are not toys and children learn the age appropriate respect and form in using them as instruments. Teachers model beautiful tone in every activity, understanding the sensitivity of the developing ear and the importance of the best model for tone.

What happens in a typical SECE class?
Classes include nursery rhymes, free movement, rhythm play, singing, listening, and the use of simple Orff instruments like the triangle, xylophone, and drum — all built on a research-based, structured curriculum.
How do we start?

What makes SECE different from other mom & baby music classes?

Why do the classes follow the same structure each week?
 Classes follow a repetitive structure that families come to know and love, layered by teachers as each child grows and develops. Repetition builds familiarity and confidence, letting children engage more deeply over time.
How long are the classes?
Each class is 1 hour long.
Do we need prior experience?
Absolutely not! We help you to feel confident with participating and modeling for your child. You'll learn along the way, just like your child.
Can I bring my older children to the class?
We take this on a case by case basis because of space. Please reach out to us to inquire about space for siblings.
